What does “bloodless” mean?
It refers to the recovery process: no blasting, no chemicals, electrically powered. It also refers to provenance — every stone is traceable to a licensed South African mine.
Where are the mines?
All three are located on the alluvial diamond run north of Lichtenburg, North West Province, South Africa. This field has produced diamonds for a century.
What is actually being mined?
Diamonds and manganese principally, along with agates, crushed stone and building sand across the three operations.
How is the education funding accounted for?
Reported annually against the 500-scholar target, stating the amount allocated and the institutions involved.
Has a competent person's report been produced?
No. The historical record for this ground is extensive, including Stettler's 1979 geophysical survey and the 1995 Stettler, Kleywegt and de Wit paper, but a modern competent person's report has not been commissioned. See the story of Diamond Lakes.
Can I visit the mines?
Site visits are arranged following an initial discussion.
What happens after I register my interest?
An acknowledgement is issued, a director reviews the enquiry, and a reply is sent within five to seven working days. Registration places you under no obligation and commits no funds.
Do you track visitors to this site?
No. No information is collected automatically. There are no advertising networks, no session recording and no cookies. The privacy policy identifies every third party with access to any personal information.
