Founder & director
Dr Navin Naidoo
A medical doctor, lawyer and entrepreneur, Navin has been a director of all three Lichtenburg mines since 2006. He works as a GP and Emergency Medicine consultant in Queensland, Australia, and consults on medicolegal issues internationally.
Operations manager & director representative
Theo Roux
Theo is Operations Manager and Director Representative on all three mines, and the point of contact for day-to-day operations across the Lichtenburg field.
Technical advisers
Geology & exploration
James Campbell
A graduate of Imperial College London in mining exploration and geology, James spent 21 years at De Beers, rising to General Manager in charge of Advanced Exploration and De Beers laboratories worldwide. His honours project covered what became the Venetia Mine. He has since led several diamond companies, beginning with African Diamonds and the development of the Karowe mine, and including five years as Chief Executive of Rockwell Diamonds.
He joined the Diamond Lakes project as technical adviser.
Mining & dredger design
Daan Roux
Son of Mat Roux, who acquired Elandsputte in the 1960s. Daan has mined the Lichtenburg field for more than fifty years and worked Pienaar's Pothole through three generations of method — draining, earthmoving fleet, and now dredging.
