Impact
Mining income is applied to two ends: shareholder returns from environmentally sound operations, and the subsidy of student education across Southern and Eastern Africa. Both are reported annually.
Education
Mineral extraction in Africa has historically returned the greater part of its value to interests outside the continent. A stated priority of the group is the application of mining income to education within the regions in which it operates.
Progress is reported annually against a target of 500 supported scholars by the end of 2026.
Environment
No chemicals are used in the recovery process. The dredger replaces a diesel earthmoving fleet with an electrically powered plant capable of running from a mini solar grid. Rehabilitation commitments under each licence are to be listed here with their references.
Community
The Better Life operation is structured to generate revenue for surrounding communities alongside equity holders.
