Diamond gravels plus high-grade manganese deposits to the south, with a contractor on site scaling toward export volume.
The operation originates with Mat Roux Senior's acquisition of Elandsputte in the 1960s. His son, Daan Roux, has mined in this area for more than fifty years.
Operations resumed following the shutdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The high-grade manganese deposits to the south of the mine have a contractor on site setting up to increase production to a sustainable exportable quantity. Large areas of virgin diamond gravels here remained inaccessible for almost a century.
